Hello,
My museum is having new exhibition cases fabricated locally, but the contractor is having a hard time finding silicone gasketing that isn’t rust-orange. Can anyone recommend silicone gasketing that is available in clear or black, and which has passed Oddy Testing? Also, if anyone has any information on silicone grommets that aren’t rust-orange it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Teresa

We have used 8489A black silicone gasket for over 15 years without any issues. We get the gasket from Clean Seal: http://www.cleanseal.com/ribbed-sections.html

Re: [mountmaking-forum] Re: recommendations for clear or black silicone gasketing material?
I have purchased black Silicone gasket from Cleanseal, which was recommended to me years ago by Michael at Smallcorp. He was using their "d" profile for his casework and had worked with them to replace the sticky back adhesive with something that would pass an oddy test.
