Salary £19,698 - £21,748 Pro Rata

Reporting to the Museum Technical Officer, we are looking for an individual with a specialist craft, joinery, or metalworking skill who is used to working to a high standard and to multiple deadlines. The post holder will provide all aspects of technical support for the Museum Service and its external clients especially in the provision of exhibitions construction and installation, collection transportation and assistance with the collection care conservation activities of the section. The post-holder will be working with visitors and external clients, therefore good customer service and communication skills are required. The post is based at the specialist workshops in Preston at the Lancashire County Museum Service Headquarters, but the successful candidate will work at venues across Lancashire and the wider North West, with the occasional requirement to work in national locations. Further they will be part of the multidisciplinary Conservation & Collections Team supporting the operation and development of museums across Lancashire and the North West and beyond, through as part of our provision of specialist conservation, technical, design and curatorial services.
