Display Technician and Mount Maker Pitt Rivers Museum, South Parks Road, Oxford, OX1 3PP
Working within the Exhibition team, you will provide technical support for construction of both temporary and permanent displays and exhibition projects. You will also provide specialist mount-making expertise and plan, implement and manage mount-making programmes across the Pitt Rivers collections, and will liaise with Conservation, Design, Curatorial and Exhibitions staff as well as external stakeholders. You will be responsible for good practice by ensuring health and safety compliance and correct workshop processes are followed. Support will be provided by the departmental DSO (Divisional Safety Officer) and GLAM (Gardens, Libraries and Museums) colleagues (GLAM Divisional DSO) in ensuring the museum meets all safety standards and demonstrates safety excellence. You will work as part of an exhibition and display team that includes an Exhibitions and Special Projects Officer and a Designer and Maker. It is essential that you have excellent making skills to support the delivery of display and exhibition projects and knowledge and experience of managing workshop safety policies and procedures.
